To become a NSW Police Officer, you will need to complete a rigorous program including eligibility checks; entrance exam; background checks; fitness testing; psychological testing; health checks; comprehensive checks; and a final interview. You will be appointed to general duties as a probationary officer while you complete the remainder of your studies and cannot apply for a specialist role before completing 3 years active service.

Civil construction designers work with civil engineers in the design and construction process of major projects such as commercial buildings, bridges, roads, dams, tunnels, railways.
This career requires a range of skills including an eye for detail, being able to work with others, project management, the ability to use CAD software to produce plans with precision as well as being involved in the construction process to ensure the structure is being built to specification as per the plan.

Newstep is a foundation studies program designed for 18-20 year olds who have completed the HSC but did not qualify for university entrance, have experienced adverse circumstances during their senior secondary schooling or did not complete the HSC.
Newstep is a one-year program that commences in Semester 1 each year - mid-year entry is not available. It is accepted as an entry qualification to many universities in Australia.

To become an air traffic controller you usually have to gain your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education with passes in English, mathematics and a science subject (preferably physics). Airservices Australia and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) are the only trainers and employers of air traffic controllers in Australia. Applicants for Airservices Australia must undergo a comprehensive selection process, including an online cognitive ability test, a computer-based aptitude test, an assessment day involving a competency-based interview, police checks, medical examinations and a drug test.
